Alice House’s Domestic Violence Court Advocate is here to provide support throughout the duration of your partner or past partner’s involvement with Domestic Violence Court.
Alice House’s Domestic Violence Court Support Services provide enhanced assistance to female victims navigating the Halifax Domestic Violence Court. This program helps with managing court appointments, welfare involvement, housing insecurity, system harm, and trauma symptoms while considering client safety and the impacts of assault charges. This crucial service ensures that women receive community-based care and connects them to additional resources.

Court Accompaniment: We’ll stand by your side, offering emotional support and guidance throughout the court process.
Supportive Check-Ins: We offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can talk about your experiences, receive emotional support, and work together on creating safety plans, with the guidance of compassionate staff.
Advocacy: We ensure your voice is heard by sharing your concerns in pre-court meetings.
Peer Support Groups: Connect with others who share your experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Referrals and Resources: We’ll help you access additional support, such as counselling, housing, or
community programs.
