Help Us Provide Back-to-School Supplies for Children in Our Housing Program

As summer winds down and the new school year approaches, families in our housing program at Alice House are preparing for the transition back to the classroom. For many of these families, the excitement of a new school year is accompanied by the stress of ensuring their children have the necessary supplies to succeed.

At Alice House, we believe every child deserves the chance to start the school year with confidence and the tools they need to thrive. This year, we are reaching out to our community to help support our back-to-school drive.

Why Your Help Matters

The children in our housing program are resilient and full of potential, but many face significant challenges. Providing them with school supplies does more than just fill their backpacks; it fills them with hope and the belief that their community cares about their future. When you donate, you are directly contributing to their academic success and well-being.

What We Need

We are collecting a range of school supplies, including:

  • Markers (unscented)
  • Crayons
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Pencils (plain and coloured)
  • Plastic duotangs
  • Personal whiteboards (3-4)
  • Scissors
  • Dry erase markers
  • Pencil cases
  • Liquid white glue
  • Glue sticks
  • Boxes of Kleenex
  • Medium and large freezer bags
  • Backpacks
  • Sneakers
  • New clothes and fall jackets

How You Can Help

There are several ways you can support our back-to-school drive:

  • Donate Supplies: Drop off new school supplies at Alice House. We have set up a collection box in the main lobby.
  • Spread the Word: Share our mission with your friends, family, and social networks to help us reach more people who may be able to contribute.
