You can also donate in honour of someone who has touched your life, and show them you care about the issue of intimate partner violence.

Comfort ($12)

Feeling scared is common for children who witness intimate partner violence. Give the gift of comfort to a child who would like a new toy for their new life away from violence.

Safety ($20)

There’s no fear when you’re having fun. Sponsor a mom and two children to watch a movie at the cinema, spend a day at the beach, or other carefree outing. “To me there is no picture so beautiful as smiling, bright-eyed, happy children; no music so sweet as their clear and ringing laughter” – P. T. Barnum.

Bus pass ($78)

Public bus

In their quest for independence, women at Alice House commonly seek to upgrade their education and get hired at a new job. How are they going to get to where they need to be? Access to public transportation gives women opportunities they may not have otherwise. Give a woman the freedom to move around the city for one month with a bus and ferry pass.

Donate a car

Car driving down the street

Do you have a car, truck, van, SUV, or other automobile? Donate it to Alice House and receive a charitable tax receipt. It will be picked up for free by Donate-A-Car Canada, and then sold at auction or recycled for parts.

Rent ($150)

Rental units available to low income families are typically either suitable but over-priced or affordable but sub-standard. Many women have no option but to return to the violent homes they left, putting their lives and the lives of their children at risk. Help a family of three pay the rent for one week.
