Alice House's 2024-2025 Impact Report Now Available Online

Jun 27, 2025

We’re proud to share our 2024–2025 Impact Report, which reflects the incredible strength of the women and children we serve, the deep commitment of our team, and the power of community in creating real, lasting change.

Over the past year, Alice House provided safe housing and wraparound supports to 25 women and 33 children recovering from intimate partner violence. We launched new initiatives, expanded existing programs, and continued to strengthen our foundation as we look toward the future.

Some highlights from the year include:

New vision, renewed direction: We redefined our organizational vision and mission and laid the groundwork for our 2025–2028 Strategic Plan, focusing on expanding access to safe housing and support, generating greater awareness and understanding of Alice House, and building a strong and sustainable foundation.

Safe homes and healing spaces: 12 of our 18 units received energy-efficiency upgrades; 11 pets were welcomed into housing, ensuring families stayed together; and every new resident affirmed their unit met or exceeded their expectations for safety and condition at move-in.

Support that meets survivors where they are: From 276 counselling sessions, 410 financial literacy supports, and 83 parenting support sessions to 107 individuals reached through online violence prevention education, our programs continue to deliver life-changing impact.

Investing in the future: We made major strides on our Growing Together initiative, a trauma-informed training program for service providers supporting families affected by violence.

These achievements were made possible thanks to the collective strength of survivors, staff, volunteers, and supporters like you. In a year marked by rising violence and deepening housing challenges across Nova Scotia, your support has never mattered more.
